Sunday I attended a Stamp & Share for Leaders in Medina, MN.  It is a great opportunity for Sr. Supervisors or above to gather and share great creative stamping & business ideas.  We gave several demo's the title of Stampin' Engineers,  someone designed box hinges out of grosgrain ribbon and crystal effects.   I brought to share a little mini flip album I designed incorporating the Stampin' Up! Bigz  Scallop Envelope Die.  Now the flip album has been around a while and I just converted it to the envelope die.  This die is an exclusive SU product and can be ordered through a Stampin' Up! demo (like "ME" smiling).

I had so many questions on how to make it I thought I would compile the info and post to my blog so everyone could enjoy it.   If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me.

SUPPLIES:

Stamp Set: Priceless

Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Cardstock, Designer Series Paper Cottage Rose

Accessories:  Crop a Dile, Jumbo Eyelets Pewter, Rich Razzleberry 1/2' Polka Dot Ribbon grosgrain ribbon,

Scallop Envelope Die

Main Pieces of Album measurements:

  • 2 envelopes cut out for the Stampin' Up! Bigz Scallop Envelope Die
  • 1 piece Rich Razzleberry Cardstock 3 1/8" x 4 1/4"
  • 2 pieces of Old Olive Cardstock 3 1/8" x 8 1/2"
  • 1 piece of Whisper White Cardstock 3 1/8" x 8 1/2"
  • 2 Jumbo Eyelets Pewter
  • 20" Rich Razzleberry 1/2" Polka Dot Ribbon grosgrain ribbon

Step 1 copy

First you want to cut two envelopes from your Stampin' Up! Bigz Scallop Envelope Die.  There is about a 3/8" flap on each side of the envelope you will want to cut both of these off on both envelopes.    Then you will want to cut in the same color as your envelopes a piece of cardstock 3 1/8" x 4 1/4" .

Step 2Attach the 3 1/8" x 4 1/4" piece to the flaps of your envelope as shown in the next photo. This is the back of your album.

Step 2 b copy

Here is another view of the album the back is resting on the grid paper and the envelope flaps create the covers.

Step 3 copy

You want to score the 3 1/8" x 8 1/2" pieces of Old Olive & Whisper White Cardstock, 2 1/8" from each edge, then adhere the right flap of one of the Old Olive to the left flap of the Whisper White and the right flap of the Whisper White to the other left flap of the Old Olive to create the inside.

Step 4 copy

Then adhere the white page to the back of your album as shown in the sample to the left.  Then start to have fun and embellish and add photo's were you wish.  It is a fun and simple project.

I just can't pull myself away from my computer and stop creating with My Digital Studio.   I not only have a great collection of new scrapbooks and calendars but a few dust bunnies too!  The dust bunnies can wait for I know they won't go anywhere.

I noticed a benefit this week that I hadn't expected, after using My Digital Studio I feel more confident while creating  traditional scrap books.  I made two traditional 6 x 6 wedding albums this week.  I hope to share one tomorrow since the shower is today so I won't be spoiling the surprise for the bride (oh I think I am a poet too!)

Watch this great video by Stampin' Up! to be inspired to get you copy ASAP!   If you enjoy your computer you will love this great way to create and cherish memories for many years to come.

I was sooo…. excited when stampin' demo friend Sue Hyer emailed and said she was going to be in MN and wanted to drop by for a quick visit.  Sue lives in the state of VA and we meet on cruise several years ago.  Cruise friends are very special as you get to spend quality time together year after year.  She tried to visit last year in April when she was in MN visiting family, but can you believe we had a snow storm and she wasn't able to make it to my house.  I told her that I think August would be safe we haven't had any significant snow fall in August!

It has been a hectic summer and with only a few hours before her arrival I thought I don't have a gift.  I knew what ever it was it would have to be quick and easy.  So I decided to make her a Top Note photo album to remember her trip to MN.

Several weeks ago I gave myself a challenge to complete my Hawaii 2009 Album.  It is always a goal to have the album ready for the first workshop I have when I get home, well that didn't exactly happen this year.  One day I had 3 hours and challenged myself to complete it… well the 3 hours became less as life happens and I wasn't able to complete the album, but I did get 10 pages and the cover done.  One of the wonderful things about scrapbooking is reliving the memories and again today as I uploaded them I was able to relive this exciting trip.  You can share my memories with my be clicking the album below, enjoy.
